In the Spring of 2017 I took part in the Puppets in Prague stop-motion animation workshop. Up until this point in my career, my claymation skills were all self-taught. I wanted to learn the fundamentals of puppet-making and further solidify my skills and I figured there was no better place to learn than Prague, a city that is famous for their puppets.
The puppets we made during this workshop were made out of aluminum armature wire, wood for the face and body, and latex for the hands. We chiseled each piece by hand, glued each strand of hair, and sewed the costumes. Once the figures were complete, we tested their stop-motion abilities on screen.
